I enjoyed working on this project for a number of reasons. It provided an opportunity for me to learn about a vast number of Black Canadian women who have made major contributions to our country and community. This book is a tribute to the hard work and accomplishments of these role models. Current and future generations now have a reservoir of information and knowledge of Canadian Black history. Additionally, while participating in this project, I got to meet and work with a group of highly motivated and resourceful women.
