My top accomplishments are 1) Being a role model 2) Having confidence to have difficult conversations and bringing people together 3) Having the courage to start my own business and keep trying new things.
My major accomplishments include; creating space for Black and Racialized students to feel heard and seen in higher learning, co-developing a Black mentorship program at the university of ottawa, and developing a knew consciousness to address systematic inequalities.
My top three accomplishments would be being the first black woman to hold the position of Vice- President and President of my local union and being the first black woman to hold the position of Vice-Chair of the Unifor Prairie Regional Council
1. Spearheading the promotion of construction skilled trades to women and youth, creating pathways for inclusivity and diversity in the industry.
2. Mentoring and coaching numerous women and young individuals across diverse industries, fostering their growth and success.
3. Empowering and inspiring individuals from all walks of life to reach their full potential, with a focus on philanthropy to uplift communities and contribute to social well-being.
In just seven years, I positioned TCBN as a key systems intermediary to create pathways into construction for equity deserving groups. My work has helped to generate thousands of good jobs in construction and hundreds of thousands of dollars in social procurement for local and diverse businesses and social enterprises.
