Canadian Heritage call for proposals
Hello, Canadian Heritage is organizing a call for proposals to develop a campaign to educate youth about Black Canadian History and Anti-Black Racism in Canada. One organization will be selected to receive up to $430,000. The deadline to submit an application is May 17, 2019. To request an application package, email Canadian Heritage at pch.jeunescanadiensnoirs.blackcanadianyouth.pch@canada.ca and include in the subject line: National Anti-Black Racism Education and Awareness Campaign. New legal clinic opens to serve Black communities
The Clinic Law Services Division at Legal Aid Ontario is pleased to inform you that a new legal clinic has opened. The Black Legal Action Centre (BLAC) will specialize in combatting individual and systemic anti-Black racism through the provision of legal aid services. BLAC’s establishment fulfils LAO’s commitment to open a new specialty clinic with, and for, members of Ontario’s Black communities following the September 2017 defunding of the African Canadian Legal Clinic.
