Effective September 2025, Black history is to be included in the history curriculum for grades 7, 8 and 10 by highlighting how Black communities contributed to Canada pre and post Confederation including the obstacles they faced in establishing themselves in Canada.
Purpose: Through its annual symposium, 100 ABC women have honourees with expertise in defined subject areas to engage in table top discussions that will cover:
(a) Pre-Confederation – i.e. pre 1867
(b) Confederation to Repatriation of Constitution 1867 – 1982
(c) Constitution to today – 1982-2024
